Biography:
Ron Sanderson is a respiratory therapist and life member of the AARC. He received a BS in Biology and Master’s of Education at the University of Oregon. He trained in respiratory care at Northeastern University and the University of Florida. His doctorate in public health is from the University of Hawaii. Ron founded two accredited schools of respiratory therapy. The one at Kapiolani Community College was assessed as the outstanding vocational program in the USA by the U.S. Department of Education 1986. He has made presentations locally, Nationally and internationally on ventilator safety and automation. Ron is an honorary member and counselor of the Japan Respiratory Care Network. He has worked directly in the development of ventilators with Forrest Bird, Jack Emerson, Hamilton Medical and Newport Medical.
He recently retired as Director of Respiratory Care at Castle Medical Center, Kailua HI.
Kimiyo Yamasaki RRT, BSRT, ACCS, MBA

Biography: Kimi is a respiratory therapist in the USA and a physical therapist in Japan. She received a BS in economics at Gakushuin University, an AS in physical therapy at Tokyo Hospital Rehabilitation School, a BS in the respiratory program at the University of Cincinnati, and an MBA at Western Governors University. She was working as a physical therapist in hospitals and home care rehabilitation stations for 5 years in Tokyo, and she is currently working as a respiratory therapist at Adventist Health Castle, Kailua Hawaii. She has presented about respiratory care and the medical system in the USA for Japanese students and clinicians at Kapiolani Community College and Adventist Health Castle.
